Originally a heating plant from the last century, it stood idle for over a decade after being replaced by a new facility. During this time, the surrounding residential area expanded in size and scale, and the plant reached the end of its design lifespan.
We demolished the entire street-facing wall on the north side of the site to open up the grounds and transform them into an environmentally friendly neighborhood park. The ground floor of the main building serves as an exhibition and conference reception area. The first floor of the annex and other small buildings throughout the site house commercial amenities, such as restaurants, cafés, and boutique shops. The second floor of the main building houses a conference center, and the rest is used for offices. This setup accommodates the office needs of pharmaceutical technology incubator enterprises and fulfills the administrative district's demand for conference facilities. Crucially, it addresses the lack of commercial amenities and daily activity spaces in the nearby residential areas.
We maximized every available space and existing structure on campus, creating a covered walkway that connects the main building, the annex, small workshops, and other supporting structures. This allows people to stroll, pause, rest, and freely explore. The walkway begins at the junction of the main building and the annex. This area serves as an entrance to different areas and as a place to pause, view the scenery, and rest. All rooftops, slag pits, and chimneys are transformed into activity platforms through the covered walkway, effectively expanding the usable space.

我们充分利用园区内的一切空间和现有建筑,做了贯穿园区的廊桥,串联起主楼、配楼、小厂房和其他配套小房子,使其成为一个有机整体,让人们可以在其中遛弯、驻足、歇脚,自由成长。在主楼和配楼交接的地方作为廊桥的起点。这里既是去往各个节点的入口,也是驻足、观景、休息的平台。通过廊桥,所有的屋顶、原渣池、烟囱都变成了活动平台,有效拓展了活动空间。
