Building remodeling is not about renovation or refurbishment, but about reshaping the relationship between the building and the environment to form a platform for coexistence between people and nature.
The building is situated in the middle of a green park, behind a small lake of natural beauty. In such an environment, a building with a showcase function should be friendly, open and welcoming.
After a thorough analysis of the current situation and structure of the building, according to the existing structure and combined with the demand for use, we regulated the building into four parts - foyer, office area, exhibition area and negotiation area, and redefined, divided and reorganised the four parts to break the sense of narrowness and gloom created by the original building. Each section conveys a different sense of space.
We deliberately compressed the height of the foyer and controlled the amount of light so that people can feel the openness and brightness of the exhibition area, and the high glass windows break the boundaries between inside and outside. We added different ways to enjoy the scenery in different areas, such as the outdoor terrace in the exhibition area, the waterfront terrace in the negotiation area and the roof terrace in the office area, without interfering with each other.
